Blog Journal 10

The past 18 years of my life have consisted of an innate fear of Excel and its outward intimidation. Being able to actually work with Excel and learn how the program functions, I can now see that is user friendly and easy to trouble shoot issues that you have while using the program. In the future, I will undoubtedly use the program to keep track of my students’ grades and track the class averages. This will help me in identifying what topics I might not have taught in an adequate manner as so to get across to the students. I will also use surveys to get my class’ opinion about parties, my instruction, and various other events in our classroom so I can get a better idea of what I need to change for the next year.

Some of the topics that I found interesting on my fellow classmate’s blogs is how they wish to use Twitter in the future. More specifically, I found it interesting on how they wanted to tie in their future career to make their Twitter more professional. From when Twitter first started out to now, the manner in which we use it on a daily basis has changed drastically. It also amazes me on how different all of our future careers are from one another even though many of us are taking the same educational courses.

I want to learn how to effectively utilize videos in my instruction. I want to learn how to make and edit a YouTube video. I want to know how to do this so my students can look to the videos for help with their homework. I can also see this helping the parents with their aid of their children’s homework. I know that many parents now a days have issues because they don’t understand the processes their students are executing. I plan on watching tutorials on YouTube itself on how to do these things.
