Twitter has been an interesting experience. Before taking
EME 2040, I didn’t even have a twitter account. Personally, I have mixed
feelings about the program as a whole. Due to the issues that have been facing
our world, Twitter seems to have become a board for people to post about their
issues with the country, Trump, and one another. No matter how much you follow
a certain type of account (for example, education accounts), posts from the
President and the First Lady pop up on my feed, as well the immense amount of
hate people have for the both of them. I feel like if you were able to filter
out all the hate and noise of people being on the internet, then Twitter could
be an interesting tool for teachers to use for announcements and get the
class’s idea on different things.
I found that I LOVE designing websites, especially for this
educational reason. I found it so much fun to research different math topics
and find resources for students to use to help them on homework and for concept
comprehension. I am excited to be able to implement a tool like this for my
future classrooms. I might even use the same website, but add and take way as I
need to along my professional career. You can find my website at acupcake75.wix.com/website
Assistive and adaptive technologies are different resources
and programs designed to aid people with different disabilities to perform tasks
with ease and independence. They vary in who they help and what they do. When
my brother was younger he had a speech issue, he had to go see a speech
therapist everyday after school to help him with his language skills. One of
the things she gave him was a special disk to put at the end of straws. The disk
helped him to develop his tongue muscles so that he could pronounce “r” noises
easier. I feel like one of the biggest issues I might face In the future when
trying to use these tools for my students is actually knowing how to use them
and receiving the correct professional development tools to aid them in the way
they need.
